Largest European Telecom launches Amigot-powered educational platform
New York, NY – February 18, 2009 – Today, Telefonica, the leading Spanish and European telecommunications company, launched an educational video platform using Amigot software technology. This web platform, Educared TV (tv.educared.net), serves to provide information and discussion about the Internet as a powerful educational tool. It seeks to educate parents, teachers and students on the proper use of the Internet in a formal education.
“This project was right up our alley,” stated CEO Michael Amigot. “We know the power of the Internet as an education and information tool, especially when it comes to video. Telefonica knew they could trust us to provide the framework for this important public endeavor.”
Educared TV is a multi-media video platform that provides multiple sharing and viewing options for the end-user. It provides informational content about using the Internet as part of any educational program. Educared TV is packed with lectures and event coverage featuring discussions on the latest technology and tools of the web. Educared TV was initiated and is owned by Fundacion Telefonica, the official non-profit foundation of Telefonica.
